Blue Mountain Vineyards & Cellars: A Lehigh Valley Gem for Wine Lovers and Community Gatherings

A Legacy of Passion and Craftsmanship

Nestled in the scenic hills of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, Blue Mountain Vineyards & Cellars has been a cornerstone of the Lehigh Valley wine scene since 1986. Founded by Joe and Vickie Greff, the vineyard began with a modest five-acre planting of French Hybrid varietals such as Chambourcin, Vignoles, and Vidal Blanc. Recognizing the region’s potential, they expanded their cultivation to include European varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, capitalizing on the area’s well-drained shale and limestone soils that mirror those of France’s Burgundy and Loire Valley regions.

Today, the vineyard spans 50 acres, producing award-winning “old-world” style wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Lehigh Valley. The microclimate, characterized by dry summers and long, cool autumns, provides an ideal environment for grape cultivation, resulting in wines that are both distinctive and of high quality.

A Picturesque Setting for Memorable Experiences

Blue Mountain Vineyards offers more than just exceptional wines; it provides a tranquil escape with panoramic views of the Appalachian Blue Mountains. The estate features a rustic tasting room with high ceilings and a spacious deck overlooking serene ponds and lush vineyards. This idyllic setting serves as a backdrop for various events, from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations.

The vineyard’s glass-enclosed event space can accommodate up to 70 guests, making it a popular choice for weddings, corporate events, and private parties. Visitors can enjoy live music performances, seasonal festivals, and themed tastings, creating a vibrant community atmosphere that welcomes both locals and tourists alike.

A Diverse Portfolio of Wines

Blue Mountain Vineyards boasts an impressive selection of wines catering to a variety of palates. Their offerings include dry reds like Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir, crisp whites such as Chardonnay and Riesling, and unique blends like the popular “Rottie” series, named in honor of the owners’ beloved Rottweilers.

Guests can indulge in curated wine and cheese or wine and chocolate pairings, enhancing the tasting experience. These pairings are thoughtfully designed to complement the flavors of the wines, providing a sensory journey that delights both novice and seasoned wine enthusiasts.
