Nestled in the rolling hills of New Tripoli, Pennsylvania, Blue Mountain Vineyards & Cellars offers a serene escape for wine enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.Established in 1986 by Joe and Vickie Greff, the vineyard began with just five acres of French Hybrid varietals.Recognizing the Lehigh Valley’s micro-climate and soil similarities to France’s renowned wine regions, the Greffs expanded their plantings to include European varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay.Today, the vineyard spans over 50 acres, producing award-winning “old-world” style wines that have been featured at prestigious events, including the Presidential Summit and the Republican National Convention.
In 2022, the winery entered a new chapter under the ownership of Josh and Kristy Gier. With backgrounds in food distribution and publishing, the Giers have infused fresh energy into the vineyard, enhancing the tasting room and expanding event offerings.Visitors can now enjoy a variety of experiences, from wine and cheese pairings to seasonal events like the “Spring Witch Pop-Up Market” and the annual “Run the Vineyards” 5K race.
Beyond its wines, Blue Mountain Vineyards is celebrated for its panoramic views of the Appalachian’s Blue Mountain, terraced vineyards reminiscent of European landscapes, and a welcoming atmosphere that invites guests to relax and savor the moment.Whether you’re attending a live music jam, participating in a trivia night, or simply enjoying a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the ponds, Blue Mountain Vineyards offers a memorable experience that captures the essence of the Lehigh Valley’s rich viticultural heritage.
